How to make the stairs yourself

The staircase parameters are selected taking into account safety and ease of use. It is considered that the angle of inclination of the span should not exceed 37-38 º. With a two-span version, the distance between the spans should be at least 10–12 cm. The height of the passage should be about 1.85–2 m. The optimum dimensions of the steps are: height –15–18 cm, width – 24–33 cm (the foot should rest reliably on step). The width of the stairs is chosen based on the availability of space, but the most common is 1-1.2 m. It is not recommended to make less than 80 cm width.

Increased demands are being placed on rail design. The simplest and best option is the location of the span along the wall. In this case, the construction of a railing on one side only is required. The distance between the balusters should be less than the size of the child’s head. (more…)

Attic do-it-yourself manufacturing steps

The upper rafters of the attic roof can be an L-shaped structure. Truss legs between themselves can be joined end-to-end with the use of wooden or metal fixing lining, or by cutting in half-wood, using a bolted connection. It is recommended to fit the first pair of rafters in place, which is then dismantled and used as a template. Prepared trusses are installed in the standard order – first extreme, then the rest with constant leveling.

At the last stage of the creation of the roofing structure, the installation of the batten, the installation of waterproofing, the creation of the ventilation clearance, the installation of the roofing covering are carried out with their own hands. On the inside, heat insulation and vapor barrier are fixed, and sheathing is mounted. In the video you can get acquainted with the technology works. (more…)

Formwork scheme for a monolithic slab

10. After installing the reinforcement layer, the platform is filled with concrete. It must have a sufficient degree of mobility, so that the rubble does not get stuck between the reinforcement bars.

11. The solution is prepared according to the recommendations of a specific cement manufacturer. 10 kg of cement is usually taken 30 kg of clean sand without admixture of clay and 50 kg of gravel.

12. The flooded solution is carefully leveled and left to dry.

The foundation “plate” with your own hands – step by step instructions

The slab foundation is sometimes called floating because it is located almost on the surface, the depth of such a base is insignificant, not more than 1 m. (more…)

Decorative self-leveling floor do it yourself

Pour the composition to the surface. The base is leveled by means of a rule and a special needle roller, the main purpose of which is to remove air bubbles from the thickness of the base. We are waiting for its complete polymerization (at least twenty-four hours)

Then you need to check the level of the evenness of the base. Until the polymer base is completely dry, you should wait approximately seven days. If you plan to decor the floor with small objects (shells, pebbles, etc.), then wait for the complete drying of the base layer is not necessary.

Drawing pattern

After the base is completely dry (about twenty-four hours), you can begin to decorate the floor surface.

There are two ways to create images for three-dimensional self-leveling floors:

  • drawing with special paints (acrylic or polymeric);
  • sticking the finished image.
